Woo Myung is the creator of the meditation method taught in Ma-Eum Su-Ryun (established in 1996) and the author of several bestselling books about Truth. He has dedicated his entire life to a single, profound purpose: helping people all over the world discard their human minds so they can live eternally with the mind of the Universe.

Through his teachings and the systematic 7-level meditation method, he travels the world sharing the path to Truth and human completion.

Early Life: Questions About Life and Death

Born in a rural village in the South during the Korean Civil War, Woo Myung’s early life was marked by hardship and profound questions. The village was a battleground, and the realities of war were inescapable. At just nine years old, he became the head of his household following his father’s passing.

Working in the mountains and fields to support his family, he often pondered the futility of human existence.

“I was not a great person or a clever one. Rather I was a person who was most lacking… Every time I stepped into the room I had shared with my father, I would wonder, ‘Where has my father gone? Where do people go after they die?’” – Woo Myung

The Path of Seeking Truth

Throughout his youth, Woo Myung sought answers to these resounding questions. By the time he turned thirty, he had read countless religious and philosophical texts and sought out many sages, but none could provide satisfactory answers.

Even after achieving financial success by running a college preparatory academy, an undeniable emptiness remained. He realized that true happiness could not come from material wealth or fame while others in the world were suffering. He believed that true peace could only be found when one knows where they come from, where they return, and the reason they were born.

Attaining Enlightenment

In late 1995, Woo Myung and his wife journeyed to Gaya Mountain with a resolute commitment to seeking Truth. They began the arduous process of discarding their mind worlds and all the accumulated thoughts they had carried since birth.

On January 3, 1996, Woo Myung completely discarded his mind world and his very self, attaining enlightenment. He realized that the Universe is his mind, and that he is Truth.

“Truth is the infinite Universe. The Universe is originally the great Soul and Spirit, and a person who becomes this existence itself does not die but lives forever. Such is what human completion is.” – Woo Myung

The 7-Level Method of Human Completion

Knowing that people can only truly live when they discard their false minds, Woo Myung dedicated himself to creating a practical way to teach this profound Truth.

“In order to teach the people of the world, there needed to be a method… After studying on this twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, I was enlightened of the method with which I could teach people.” – Woo Myung

The result was a scientific, systematic 7-level method of discarding the mind. What sets this meditation apart is its accessibility—allowing anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background, to achieve human completion.

A Global Movement for True Happiness

Today, the era of human completion has begun. What started in a small country inn with just ten people has now grown into a global movement, with over 400 centers in 37 countries and more than 400,000 practitioners worldwide.

Woo Myung continues to travel relentlessly across continents—sometimes crossing multiple national borders in a single day—driven by a profound sense of urgency and deep compassion for humanity.

“It is my hope that before I die, Truth will spread all over the world and that all people become Truth.” – Woo Myung

His timeless message remains clear: we are born to live forever. By discarding our false minds and returning to the Universe, we can awaken the true Soul and Spirit within and live as Truth and oneness.
